NUET category for applicants of undergraduate programs

Please be informed that applicants applying to undergraduate programs for the 2022-2023 academic year have the opportunity to apply through the new category “NUET applicants”. Applicants of NUET category should pass the NUET (Nazarbayev University Entrance Test) exam together with applicants of Foundation program except that  the minimum passing score for undergraduate applicants is different.

NUET is the entry test that assesses the academic readiness of the applicants to study at Nazarbayev University. NUET is held in 2 subject sections – Mathematics and Critical Thinking & Problem Solving. Earlier this test was known to applicants as NUFYPET. Sample tests for NUET (former NUFYPET) can be found on the website  nu.edu.kz  in Admissions-Foundation Program-Useful Resources.

The minimum passing score for undergraduate applicants is 130, in total for 2 subjects, while minimum passing score for each of the subjects shall not be less than 60. Number of questions – 60. Test duration is 120 minutes. The test contains multiple-choice questions. NUET results will be available in 6 weeks in a Personal account.

In order to participate in NUET exam, applicants have to apply for an undergraduate program at admissions.nu.edu.kz, and choose the category “NUET applicants” in the application form and select the city for passing this test. Further, the applicant should submit an IELTS / TOEFL in accordance with the minimum program requirements in a timely manner.

Information about access to the entry exam will be placed in the applicant’s Personal account. Applicants will be informed about examination date and venue, information on format, as well as required documents and Rules of conduct during the examination via email one week prior to the exam. The number of tasks and duration of the entry examination can be changed by Test administrators. There is no appeal procedure. Examination schedule is published in the “Important dates” section.  NUET exam is funded by Nazarbayev University and free of charge for applicants.

Please be informed that NUET scores earned in the Foundation exam will not be considered without registering for the “NUET applicants” undergraduate program and the exam must be taken once in case of application for both programs. Online application for the “NUET applicants” category will be available until January 6, 2022 inclusive.
