Updates from the NU Community COVID-19 Solidarity Initiative

Since the last report on May 22nd, the Initiative has delivered 36’000 face masks, 5 pneumatic sprays, and 50 plastic face shields produced by NURIS to the Multidisciplinary Regional Hospital of Kyzylorda.

During the past week, the Initiative has also organized the supply of 20’000 face masks and 50 face shields to the Shymkent City Hospital No.1 and 20’000 face masks and 50 face shields to the Turkestan Regional Emergency Center, at a total cost of 4.68 m. tenge.

The initiative also supports the NU GSB Alumni project which provides free lunches to the frontline medical staff at hospitals in Nur-Sultan. Lunches are prepared by local restaurants, thus this initiative also helps local businesses. This project has been running for several weeks and now requires additional funds to continue its work. The Initiative has decided to allocate 1.68 m. tenge to support local healthcare workers for another 2 weeks.

As of May 27th, the NU Community COVID-19 Solidarity Initiative has raised approximately 23.9 m. tenge to support medical workers and their families.

Once again, thanks everyone who contributes to the NU Community COVID-19 Solidarity Initiative – the feedback we are receiving clearly demonstrates that you are helping to make a real and positive difference to the community!

Thank you again for all your help and our best wishes to you and your families!
