Dr. Janay Sagin research interests and background are in the sustainable surface and groundwater resources, hydrological modeling. Dr. Sagin works on collaboration programs within the EREC (http://erec.nu.edu.kz/?page_id=296), CAREC (https://carececo.org/en/main/activity/projects/), DSSAT (https://sites.google.com/view/dssat-carec/home), NSF USAID program (https://sites.nationalacademies.org/PGA/PEER/PEERscience/PGA_174150 ), Global Institute for Water Security (https://water.usask.ca/), Water for Food (https://waterforfood.nebraska.edu/), WMU (https://wmich.edu/geology/academics/hydrogeology-field-course, http://www.esrs.wmich.edu/). Dr. Sagin is a member of SIBF- CELA (http://celanetwork.org/). One of the main effort is to expand the Apprenticeship Dual TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) programs in cooperation with Valmont Valley (http://www.valleyirrigation.com/news/kz) on sustainable water use in Central Asia, including the Aral Sea Basin region (http://www.agroinnovations.kz/company/do/kazniir/ , https://inowas.com/). Water use and irrigation technologies are inefficient in Central Asia. The professional water sustainability TVET support programs are targeted to set up similarly how it works in Nebraska ( https://knowyourwell.unl.edu/, https://ncta.unl.edu/irrigation-technician-certificate). Dr. Sagin’s training backgrounds are from Western Michigan University in Geosciences, Ball State University in Natural Resource Management .
