A New Leader of the NU Student Community Elected!

Despite the difficult challenges of the time and the transition to distance learning, the student community of Nazarbayev University continues to have an active university life. A striking example of this is the election campaign of three candidates for the post of Head of the Student Government and the election of the new Head of the university’s highest self-governing body, both organized online.

All candidates presented their election programs, discussed current issues of student life and answered students’ questions at the presidential debates on April 10. Over 1000 students, as well as representatives of the university administration and faculty, observed the process of the election campaign online.

The online voting determined the winner of the presidential race, who became a 2nd-year student of the School of Sciences and Humanities, Zhaniya Mukatay.

We congratulate to Zhaniya Mukatay, the 9th President of the Student Government in the history of the University, and wish her success in implementing new tasks and projects for the benefit of the student community and University!
