NU researchers started psoriasis drug testing in Nur-Sultan

NU researchers started their psoriasis drug testing in Nur-Sultan. The medication developed by NU scientists with the support of the NU Commercialization Office, is now being administered to volunteers. At this stage, the researchers will study biosafety and efficacy of the drug.

“We invite everyone who suffers from psoriasis of the scalp and seborrheic dermatitis. We plan to carry out such studies until the middle of 2021”, said Sholpan Askarova, head of the Laboratory of bioengineering and regenerative medicine, National Laboratory Astana.

The medication developed by NU researchers was named “A-psorin”. The composition of the new drug is not original, this substance is already used in medical practice in the form of intravenous injections for other medical purposes. But it has never been administered before as an anti-psoriasis external remedy.
