PopSci episode 5: “You can drink your coffee while mining the Earth!”
The main guests of the fifth episode of ‘PopSci,’ Assistant Professors of SMG Nasser Madani and Amoussou Coffi Adoko, try to answer mind-boggling questions related to mining: Can animals be used to explore minerals? Are the continents shifting? And how old is mining?
In the fifth episode of ‘PopSci,’ Assistant Professors of SMG Nasser Madani and Amoussou Coffi Adoko refute the stereotype that mining is a dirty job. “Most people think that mining is a dirty job. Maybe it was true a long time ago. But thanks to the development of knowledge and technology, I can sit in my office, drink my coffee, and remotely dig the Earth,” explains Assistant Professor of SMG Nasser Madani.
Both invite prospective students to join NU SMG and believe that mining engineers have a prosperous future, because mining will continue long into the future!
“Mining engineers have a good future in terms of work and employment here in Kazakhstan, or anywhere in the world,” says Assistant Professor of SMG Amoussou Coffi Adoko.
