First Annual Academic Integrity Video Contest Announces 2021 Winners
On June 1, 2021, NU hosted the Inaugural Annual Virtual Academic Integrity Roundtable to explore academic integrity experiences at universities. Speakers discussed the challenges of academic integrity faced by both faculty and students, as well as best practices for turning challenges into opportunities, and new approaches to student leadership in this context.
The values of academic and professional integrity and ethics are essential for NU. The University strives to create an environment that encourages outside the box thinking, innovation and discovery. One of the main goals of NU is to achieve leadership in the field of science and education at the world level, and it is impossible to achieve such an ambitious goal without creating such an environment. After all, academic dishonesty robs the student of realizing his full potential, of developing such skills as expressing original ideas, citing sources, working independently, as well as accurately and honestly reporting the results. All these skills are essential for students’ future professional life.
The event also announced the First Annual Student Video Contest on Academic Integrity with university students and high school students’ applications from Kazakhstan and abroad. The winners of the 2021 competition are Nazerke Zhylkybay and Aldiyar Kazhdarov, NIS, Pavlodar, Kazakhstan for Best Overall Video, Dauren Nabi and Eric Kim, Bilim-Innovation Lyceum, Taldyqorgan, Kazakhstan in High School category, Assemay Almazbekkyzy and Kazbek Kabylet, Nazarbayev University, Kazakhstan in Undergraduate category, Nurbol Tolebayev and Zhiger Telyukanov, Bilim-innovation, Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan in Graduate category.
