2021 GSPP CONFERENCE ON POLICY CHANGE AND STRUCTURAL REFORMS IN EURASIA

On October 15-16, 2021, the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Public Policy (NU GSPP) will host the 5th annual international conference on “Change and structural reforms in Eurasia” in a partnership with the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, the Astana Civil Service Hub, the Ecojer and The food and agriculture organization.

The upcoming event is designed to provide attendees with opportunities to discuss and find solutions to challenges related to policy change and sectoral reforms in Eurasia and create a network with scholars and practitioners by further providing the platform for young researchers and Ph.D. students to present their research outcomes.

Dr. Riccardo Pelizzo, the Head of Conference Organizing Committee:

“In a rapidly changing world, characterized by increasingly higher levels of volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity, policymakers are constantly looking for more and better evidence to improve governance, policy design, and implementation and to secure the sustainability of the social, environmental, economic, and political systems in which they operate. The 5th annual GSPP conference is designed to share policymakers and stakeholders the results of cutting edge research in several policy areas and domains”.

Researchers, academics, experts, civil service practitioners, and students from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Finland, Germany, Greece, India, Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Montenegro, Russia, Tajikistan, and the UK will participate in this online conference.

During panel sessions, attendees will discuss environmental challenges and water resource decline in Central Asia, сhallenges for the energy sector and the effects of the COVID-19 pandemics on public administration. Roundtable discussions will be dedicated to sustainable development initiatives in Kazakhstan and environmental policy on corporate social responsibility.
