NU scientist took part in the preparation of the encyclopedia “Sacred Kazakhstan”

Aidyn Zhuniskhanov, Teaching Assistant in the School of Sciences and Humanities, participated in the preparation of the 4th volume of the encyclopedia “Sacred Kazakhstan”.

The Sacred Kazakhstan project is an encyclopedic work in five volumes. The book includes historical-cultural sites and monuments that occupy a special place in the memory of the people of Kazakhstan, mausoleums of heroes, saints, Zhyrau and poets. The project was implemented under the patronage of the Ministry of Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan within the framework of the “Modernization of Public Consciousness” program.

“I was directly involved in the work on the 4th volume of the publication, which talks about the holy places located in the eastern part of the country. For example, Altay is one of the regions of East Kazakhstan with an ancient history, located in the Tarbagatay mountain system and the Irtysh valley. In this area there is a mausoleum of Kozy Korpesh – Bayan Sulu, which has become a symbol of eternal love, as well as the complexes of Berel and Shilikty, revealing the culture of indigenous nomads. Also, this volume provides information about other holy places in the region, which occupy a significant place in the history of our country. In total, more than 70 historical monuments of the region were covered,” said Aidyn Zhuniskhanov.

As the scientist noted, the significance of the project in scientific and educational terms is to highlight the cultural and historical heritage of Kazakhstan, sacred places of different regions of the country, as well as their significance and place in the history of our state.

In 2017, the first parts of the “Sacred Kazakhstan” encyclopedia were published. They presented sacred objects of Almaty and Akmola regions, the cities of Almaty and Nur-Sultan.

The collection was prepared in two languages ​​- Kazakh and Russian.
